TROUT in the CLASSROOM
Our class participates in a program called "Trout in the Classroom" in conjunction with Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Trout Unlimited. At the beginning of the school year, students work hard to prepare the 55 gallon tank for the trout that will arrive in November. When the box arrives, the class gets to work right away separating live eggs from dead ones. Live eggs are placed in the bottom of the tank where many will hatch in a few weeks. Students then care for the fish until we release them in May.
