OUR BEARDED DRAGON LIZARDS

Our class has three bearded dragon lizards. They have been a part of Mrs. Abernethy's class for a long time.

The oldes lizard is Tornado and he is a boy. Tornado was born in 2005. He is brown with orange and yellow highlights. He has spikes going up and down his sides. He is very mellow unless he sees Thunder. Then he puffs his beard and it turns black.

Thunder is our most active bearded dragon lizard. He is quite feisty and he gets real worked up when he sees either of the other two lizards. His beard puffs, he turns black and if he has the chance, he goes into attack mode. He and his sister Lightning were born in the spring of 2007. They got along at first, but when they got older Thunder bit Lightning's tail off. Then we had to separate them.

Lightning is the only girl bearded dragon lizard. She is the most mellow of them all. She is also the smallest.

Most of the students have their favorite, but all in all, the lizards are well loved pets in the classroom. They are gentle with people, but beware if you are a grasshopper or a cricket!
