We're a curious and adventurous group of 4th graders led by Mrs. Robison, with special visits from the wonderful Mrs. Abernethy, a retired teacher who brings science to life each week. Our mission? To explore the natural world around us—studying trees, plants, and animals while uncovering the fascinating ways nature connects to our daily lives.
This year, we’re also on a journey to discover how to live healthier by learning about nutritious foods and growing our own fresh produce. Our website will feature student projects, research findings, and helpful learning resources for young explorers like us. Check back often to follow our exciting adventures and discoveries—you won't want to miss a thing!
Check out Mrs. Abernethy's YouTube channel! It is chockfull of videos! Please hit the thumb, like, and subscribe after you watch some of the amazing videos!
Watch as the students unpack an AquaSprouts system funded by a Donors Choose grant that they will use to learn to grow and harvest their own food right in the classroom!
An investigation of leaves and what makes them green. Students place green leaves between paper and paper towel, then hammer on them. The chlorophyl oozes out of the leaves!
